🌿 From Thrift to Thriving: The Story Behind Fashion Fusion
In 2024, the Fashion Fusion Festival launched a movement rooted in sustainability, self-expression and Caribbean creativity. Kim Blackett—entrepreneur and owner of CaribbeanCutie—created the festival to show that thrift and secondhand fashion can be just as luxurious, expressive and runway-ready as designer couture.
The Virgin Islands Daily News captured that mission in its 2024 feature on Kim’s work to elevate thrift shopping for designer finds.
That vision continues to reshape the narrative around thrift fashion by blending:

The impact extends beyond the runway. In 2024, CaribbeanCutie donated $2,000 from the first festival to the St. Thomas Stroke Support Group, Inc.

That first festival laid the foundation. Fashion Fusion Festival St. Thomas returns in 2026 with local models, designers and vendors, plus a Best Dressed Competition, 50/50 raffle and door prizes. A portion of the proceeds will support the Family Resource Center Inc.

Beauty & Vendor Bazaar: Shop a curated collection of beauty vendors, artisan makers, boutiques and local designers while supporting women-owned and other local small businesses.
Best Dressed Competition: Come dressed in your best Fashion Fusion look—whether island elegance, vintage flair, bold or beautiful—for a chance to be crowned Best Dressed.
50/50 Raffle: Try your luck with a $5 raffle ticket. Contact CaribbeanCutie at 340-998-9253 for information.
Food & Refreshments: Enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
Fashion for a Cause: A portion of the proceeds will support the Family Resource Center Inc. and help strengthen families in our island community.
